This Annex to the Java SE 11 Specification contains drafts of the Java SE 11 Editions of The Java Language Specification (JLS) and The Java Virtual Machine Specification (JVMS).

The drafts include corrections and clarifications made to the JLS and JVMS since the Java SE 10 Editions, that is, since the Final Release of JSR 383. The drafts also integrate the specifications of the following new features:

• JEP 181 Nest-Based Access Control (JDK-8046171)
• JEP 309 Dynamic Class-File Constants (JDK-8177279)
• JEP 323 Local-Variable Syntax for Lambda Parameters (JDK-8193259)

The changes are highlighted with change bars and colorful text, as follows:

• Bright blue text indicates a modification of material in the Java SE 10 Edition.
• Red text indicates new material in the Java SE 11 Edition.
